After hearing Lani call this new work out a "son of a bitch" I was super worried I wouldn't be able to do it; but I did it! I actually liked this workout better than the previous two weeks. I think it's all mental. I count the numbers in my head. Before, we were running 90 seconds, walking 2 minutes. We did that for 21 minutes. That means I had to run 6 times. With the new workout durations, I only had to run 4 times. Even though I was running longer intervals, in my head, I was running a fewer amount of times.
I had to skip the 5 minute cool down this time because I had to rush home to get Connor off to TKD. I did a small workout at home instead.

Week Two Day Three
Day three was super hard. It should have been easier, but my knee was killing me. While pregnant, my left hip and knee gave me problems, being 2 1/2 months postpartum I thought I was over it, but apparently I'm still a little weak on that side. Before I start week three I'm going to stretch a little more and probably dig out a knee brace just to run in.
I ran an extra 90 second interval this time because I had to stop during one because my knee gave out.
Pictures will be taken tonight! Eeek!
Week Two Day Two
Ugh, trying to run the day after Thanksgiving was NOT cool. Lani and I decided that we wouldn't count calories on Thanksgiving. It was our day off. However, I did meet my 2 mile goal!
Week Two Day One
Yikes! I've fallen behind on my blogging. So, the first day of week two kicked my butt, but it wasn't as hard as the very first day!
I set a goal for myself to reach 2 miles next time.

Week One Day Two
Day two was SO much easier! My pace was faster and I felt good and pushed myself harder. Although I am not weighing myself until after this weeks workouts are complete, I already feel better.
Instead of trying to find some crazy diet to follow (breastfeeding makes dieting a little more difficult) I have been calorie counting and just trying to eat better in general. That also is making a difference already. I feel like I have more energy. I cannot wait to complete my first 5k!

Week One Pictures
It is painful for me to look at these, but it's all for motivation right?
The "Start" photos
Now quick! Look away!!
Week One Day One
I can blame Tim for this one:
"It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard...is what makes it great!"

Well, workout one is complete! Honestly, reading the workout on my phone made it seem pretty easy. However, after 15 minutes on the treadmill I thought, "Man, I'm going to be sore tomorrow!"
I'm excited to get started, but the hardest part is waiting for results! I feel like I should immediately step on the scale after running and see the numbers go down. Too bad it doesn't work that way!

Let's Get It Started!
"Today is a new day." I guess I'll start with an inspirational quote from Chicken Little! I blame my kids!
Actually, I blame them for quite a bit.
I blame the stain on my brand new carpet on them. I blame the piles of laundry that never end on them. I blame my unibrow and need for a haircut (and sometimes just a hot shower) on them. I also blame being overweight on them!
When Tim and I got married, I weighed 115 pounds. After having three kids, my weight is nowhere near that number! Actually, it's closer to.... oh it hurts to say it.... 185 pound! YOWCH!
Losing weight is hard, that's why I have recruited a weight loss buddy. Lani and I are starting our weight loss journey together with the Couch to 5k program. Today is day one. I haven't completed the workout yet, but once the kids go to bed, it's go time! I hope to keep track of my weight loss on here that way I can be held accountable. I also plan on taking one photo of myself each week so that I can see progress or regression.
My ultimate goal is to get healthy and complete a full marathon. The first target, of course being the 5k, should be completed in 9 weeks. I hope to be marathon ready by this summer. That gives me 25-30 weeks to reach my goal of 26.2 miles!
On your mark, set......
